This will directly affect all those who live with spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D) - the community of men, women, and children who, like me, live with paralysis is growing by approximately 30 newly spinal cord injured people and countless others with spinal cord diseases every day.

Benefits of members include voting right at 3rd annual Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Hall of Fame Gala at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, with goal to celebrate and honor those individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to quality of life and advancements toward a better future for all individuals with spinal cord injury. Only NSCIA members vote to select SCI Hall of Fame inductees.

NSCIA advocates for best practices and public policies that proactively affect people with SCI/D, and their families and service providers.  They have over 40 Chapters and Peer Support Groups, that provide a vital lifeline of information and support to more than 1,000,000 people living with SCI/D. Their website gets more than 1,500 visitors per day, including visits from people with new injuries and concerned family members and friends seeking to learn more about paralysis. In short, NSCIA does incredibly important work on behalf of hundreds of thousands of people with SCI/D.

The good news is that those of us with spinal cord injuries are living more fulfilled lives.  We are participating more, accomplishing more, and enjoying life more. As a result, NSCIA is busier than ever, helping those with spinal cord injuries and diseases in your community and across the nation to achieve their highest level of independence.
