Invacare At’m Motorized Take Along Wheelchair
This model is one of the lightest power chairs on the market (total weight is 74 lbs - 38 kg, of which base at around 35 lbs - 17 kg, at which it is still sturdy and very stable). This allowed us to take it practically wherever we went, as it is lightweight enough and compact enough to fit in the trunk of almost any ordinary car. This is very rare for models that have total weight capacity at 250 lbs (125 kg), which At'm provides. The other characteristic we liked is the simplicity to disassemble and assemble the wheelchair. Once you know how to do it, it takes less than 1 minute.
The model we tested 2 17-12 sealed gel battery, which at 17 amp hour characteristics gave around 10 miles of mostly continous use, which is preety impressive for the size and weight. We managed to get it to the maximum speed of 4 mph (6 kmh) at which the wheelchair seems stable and manevarable, probbably thanks to the gearless traction control drive system.
Wheelchair is very versitile, since it allows easy pushing, when we just lift the drive engagement levers.
All in all an comfortable chair. No complaints on seating comfort. Nicely designed cushioning from breathable fabric.
The off-board charger allows for a full charge in around 8 hours!
